Akola Group, one of the largest agribusiness companies in the Baltics, has become a key partner in advancing regenerative farming in Lithuania. With a strong presence in the agricultural sector, Akola Group has long been dedicated to sustainable farming practices. This collaboration represents a significant step toward reducing CO2 emissions while improving soil fertility and farm profitability.

How Our Cooperation Works

InSoil and Akola Group have joined forces to implement regenerative farming practices across 300,000 hectares of agricultural land in Lithuania. This initiative will help farmers generate carbon credits through sustainable practices such as no-till farming, crop rotation, and soil management. By integrating these practices, farms can increase their profitability and contribute to the fight against climate change.

Farmers enrolled in the program will receive free soil sampling and data analysis to monitor soil health and carbon sequestration levels. This partnership is set to create lasting benefits, both for the environment and for the farmers’ bottom lines.

In addition, Akola Group’s digital platform, Geoface, is playing a pivotal role in streamlining the data collection process. It allows farmers to easily input their farm activities, which are then automatically shared with HeavyFinance for accurate carbon credit certification.

Mažvydas Šileika, CFO of AB Akola Group, shared:

“We are excited to partner with Insoil to implement regenerative farming practices across 300,000 hectares of land. This collaboration is not only about reducing CO2 emissions but also about improving the profitability and sustainability of Lithuanian agriculture. The ability to generate carbon credits provides farmers with a new revenue stream, while simultaneously enhancing soil health and farm productivity.”
